YOUR CHILD'S JOURNEY

Your Child's Journey

YOUR CHILD'S JOURNEY

Your child's journey towards understanding their unique strengths and challenges begins with just one simple step - booking an initial consultation with one of our experts. During this session, our clinician will have an in-depth conversation to better understand their individual needs. They'll use this information to recommend the best course of action, whether it's an assessment or further evaluation.

Our Commitment

OUR COMMITMENT

Our commitment to providing the best care means we can offer this initial consultation appointment within around two weeks, completely free of charge. And, if an assessment is the right call, we'll work with you to schedule the assessment promptly, usually within a few weeks of the initial consultation.

Assessment Process

THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The assessment process is designed to be comprehensive and thorough, giving us the best possible understanding of your child's needs. It starts with an observation session, where one of our clinicians will be carefully observing your child for signs of autism and ADHD. This will be followed by a parent/guardian interview with another clinician, who will delve deeper into your child's history and experiences, we may also ask for school information or for consent to contact a teacher.

Diagnostic Report

DIAGNOSTIC REPORT

Once we have a complete picture our clinicians will work together to create a diagnostic report detailing their findings and recommended next steps.

Feedback Session

FEEDBACK SESSION

Finally, we understand that you may have questions about the report, which is why we offer an optional feedback session. During this session, you'll have the chance to review the report with your clinician and ask any questions you may have. Our goal is to make sure you have all the information you need to help your child thrive.

GET A CLEAR DIAGNOSIS IN 6 STEPS

Preliminary Consultation

This step is an initial online consultation with parents or caregivers. The primary focus will be to discuss the child's behaviour, developmental history, and any familial background of similar concerns. Additionally, the team will explain the process of an online autism assessment, highlighting both the benefits and potential challenges, to ensure that the family is comfortable and confident with the online approach.

PRELIMINARY CONSULTATION

Questionnaires

Once the evaluation is complete, an online feedback session will be scheduled with the parents or caregivers. In this session, the team will share the assessment findings, discuss whether a diagnosis has been made, and outline the potential next steps for intervention and support.

FEEDBACK SESSION

Observation And Evaluation

Finally, the team will create a comprehensive report, which will include the assessment findings, the diagnosis (if applicable), and the recommended interventions or treatments. This report will be produced in a clear, understandable language, ensuring that the family can fully comprehend their child's diagnosis and the suggested steps forward.

QUESTIONNAIRES/SCREENING TOOLS

The team will send online questionnaires like the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Quotient (AQ) for the parents or caregivers to complete. Additional information about the child's development and any relevant school reports will also be collected. These resources provide vital insight into the child's behaviour across different contexts. Any ambiguous or unclear information will be clarified through additional online communication with the parents or caregivers.

Feedback Session

An online observation and evaluation session will be conducted, which may include activities such as play-based interactions, language and communication assessments, and evaluations of social behaviour. These sessions are designed to directly observe and evaluate the child's behaviour and skills in a structured setting.

OBSERVATION AND EVALUATION

Report Writing

After the observation and evaluation, the psychologist and the speech and language therapist will collaboratively review and discuss the findings. The professionals will compare these findings to the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder as outlined in the International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11).
